City Year AmeriCorps members serve as entry-level, full-time staff who coach and mentor students in elementary to high school settings. You’ll help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors while partnering with teachers to support in-class instruction and school-wide initiatives.

Training is provided (2-4 weeks). Benefits include health/dental/vision, relocation support, a bi-weekly living stipend, and access to education awards and ongoing

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (work authorization in the U.S. is required)
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms
• Agree to a background check
• Begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location)

Responsabilités

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities
• Create and implement behavior management for students
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress in City Year data system
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space in partnership with teachers
• Support and lead extended day and after-school programming and clubs
• Recognize student growth and achievement in math, literacy, attendance, and behavior
