Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member supports City Year AmeriCorps programs by coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school levels. You will help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors with teachers and school staff.

Training is provided, and you will work closely with partner teachers to monitor progress, provide in-class support, and participate in data reviews within City Year’s systems.

Qualifications

• Be able to support diverse student needs and track progress.
• Commitment to AmeriCorps program requirements and training.
• Willingness to participate in 2-4 weeks of onboarding training.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Support literacy and math skills through varied activities.
• Create engaging and safe classroom spaces with teachers.
• Assist with after-school and enrichment programs.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives to boost student engagement.
