City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school, focusing on academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. Training is provided with a strong collaborative approach with teachers and school staff.

You will plan and monitor student progress, working with teachers on in-class support, and participate in school-wide initiatives to boost engagement and achievement.

Formación

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident? (not required in this role)
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
• Be selected for City Year AmeriCorps terms with background checks
• Complete training and start by July/August 2025

Responsabilidades

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Develop interpersonal skills through daily activities
• Collaborate with teachers and team to collect, record, analyze and monitor progress
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in collaboration with the teacher
• Support extended day and virtual programming for students and families
• Co-lead events or programs recognizing student growth in math, literacy, attendance, and behavior
