Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support and whole-school initiatives.

We provide 2–4 weeks of initial training and continuous guidance, with opportunities to engage in extended day, virtual programs, and service learning, all within a supportive City Year

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at start of year.
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on instruction and in-class support.
• Create an engaging, safe, and healthy classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support and participate in extended day and virtual programming, student clubs, and service learning.
