Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in school. You will plan and monitor progress and work with teachers on in-class support.

The role includes 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year, with collaboration with teachers and staff throughout. AmeriCorps benefits and a bi-weekly living stipend are provided.

Qualifications

• No advanced degree required; entry-level role.
• 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year to support you.
• Be prepared to work with teachers and school staff throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach 1:1 and small groups to boost academic skills.
• Support literacy and math activities tailored to student level.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
• Monitor student progress and participate in data reviews.
