Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor individual progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and ongoing support from partner teachers and school staff. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, relocation assistance, and a bi-weekly living stipend.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to achieve academic success.
• Plan and monitor progress for individuals and groups.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to student levels.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Monitor student progress and participate in data reviews.
