Job summary

The Ohio State University Newark IT Service Desk Student Technician provides frontline IT support to COTC and Ohio State Newark students, faculty, and staff. Handling phone, email, and ServiceNow tickets, you diagnose and resolve issues across laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers, and assist with A/V setups in classrooms and events.

Location: Hodges Hall (0628). This temporary, 20-hour per week role offers varied shifts and hands-on experience delivering high-quality customer service

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and able to pass a background check.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Knowledge of desktop and laptop computing operating environments.
• Works well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment with multitasking.
• On-site work to be performed on the Newark campus.
• Positive attitude and attention to detail, strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• 50% Phone Support – assist users via calls and messaging.
• 25% Follow-up work through the dispatch queue.
• 15% Classroom support and maintenance of AV equipment.
• 5% Event support for campus activities.
• 5% Printer support and basic device maintenance.
