The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Newark IT Service Desk is seeking a Student Technician to deliver high-quality, customer-focused IT support to OSU Newark students, faculty, and staff. You will handle phone, email, and ServiceNow requests, assisting with laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers on-site.

In addition, you will provide A/V troubleshooting in classrooms and event spaces, and assist with campus events from small meetings to conferences.

Job description

Job Title: Newark IT Service Desk Student Technician Department: OCIO | Customer Solutions-JM The Newark IT Service Desk Student Technician delivers high-quality, customer-focused IT assistance to COTC and Ohio State Newark students, faculty, and staff. Operating through phone, email, and ServiceNow ticketing, the student processes requests and resolves technical issues across laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers. Additionally, this role provides hands-on A/V assistance and troubleshooting in classrooms and event spaces while also assisting to keep A/V equipment properly maintained. The student will also support events on campus ranging from a basic meeting to a large scale conference.

Breakdown of Duties

• 50% Phone Support
• 25% Follow-up work through the dispatch queue.
• 15% Classroom Support and Maintenance
• 5% Event Support
• 5% Printer Support

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and able to pass a background check
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
• Knowledge of desktop and laptop computing operating environments
• Works well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
• On-site work to be performed on the Newark campus

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $13.00 per hour.
