Job summary

Harper College is seeking a One Stop Center Student Assistant, the first point of contact for students and visitors at the One Stop Center and Information Centers, delivering excellent customer service.

The role supports inquiries about college procedures, account information and navigating My Harper. Hours are Mon–Thu 8:00 am–7:00 pm and Fri 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with some duties potentially performed remotely.

Qualifications

• Current Harper College student enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester.
• Friendly, reliable team player with professional conduct and confidentiality.
• General office or customer service experience preferred in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in-person, by phone, email and chat with questions about procedures and account information.
• Assist with calling campaigns related to outbound efforts and input details of outbound calls.
• Represent the One Stop at events and activities to support enrollment-related functions.
• Serve as a storyteller to promote Harper and foster positive student experiences.
• Provide support to One Stop Center staff and assist with special projects and events as needed.
• Elements of these duties may be performed remotely.

• Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Represent the College in a professional manner. Maintain confidentiality of student and departmental information.
• Some general office or customer service experience preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual students are always needed, but this is not a requirement of the job.
• In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student and enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester.

Job Description

The One Stop Center Student Assistant is the first point of contact for students and visitors to Harper College, serving as the welcoming point and providing excellent customer service at the One Stop Center and Information Centers.

The One Stop Center hours are Monday–Thursday from 8:00 am–7:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in-person, by phone, email and chat with questions about College procedures, account information and how to navigate My Harper (student portal).
• Assist with calling campaigns related to outbound call center efforts and input detailed information to record outbound calls made.
• Represent the One Stop at events and activities for new and continuing students that support enrollment-related functions.
• Serve as a “storyteller” to other students about Harper and foster relationships that promote positive student experiences.
• Provide support to One Stop Center staff as well as assistance with special projects and events as needed.
• Elements of these duties are subject to working remotely.
