Job summary

University of California, Irvine seeks a temporary staff member to guide undergraduate students on degree requirements, aid in course registration, and navigate policies. You will review records to verify degree progress using Degree Works and manage inquiries via the department inbox.

Additionally, you will provide event support and front-desk coverage to ensure smooth daily operations within the academic support office.

Qualifications

• Experience in undergraduate student affairs or higher education academic support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on student-centered service.
• Ability to pass FERPA compliance training upon hire and maintain strict student data privacy.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Guide undergraduate students on degree requirements, course registration, and policy navigation.
• Review student records and clear degree requirements using Degree Works.
• Manage the department inbox to deliver timely, accurate responses to undergraduate inquiries.
• Provide general event support and cover the front desk as needed to maintain daily office operations.
