Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a seasoned Structural Engineer to apply expertise in materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete for power transmission projects.

You'll perform design and calculations, interface with clients, prepare specifications, and coordinate with teams across offices and sites, including travel for reviews. This role requires an ABET-accredited degree and 5+ years of substations experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE/MSCE required with strong materials and structural design background.
• 5+ years as a practicing structural engineer on substations or related projects.
• Clear client communication and ability to work within budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations for planned work.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Perform independent reviews of work and coordinate with other engineers and clients.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
• Lead teams in applying automation and modern tools to improve workflows.
