Job summary

Cogent Communications in Minneapolis seeks a National Account Manager to identify and close new business within a large regional sales territory, focusing on mid-market and national accounts.

The role requires outbound prospecting via calls and emails, field activities, and consultative selling to position Cogent's high-speed Internet and private networking solutions. This is an in-office role with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience with a track record of success.
• Ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through prospecting and research.
• Strong oral and written communication is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
• Working knowledge of CRM is a plus.
• A college degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional sales territory via sourcing and hunting to identify new business opportunities within national sales territory (Mid Market & National accounts).
• Direct calling, email and other contact efforts to identify, qualify, and generate opportunities with Key Decision Makers.
• Support prospecting with field activities like building walks and client meetings.
• Position Cogent services through consultative selling to meet connectivity needs.
• Help Cogent customers by positioning services for new business.
• Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into large commercial properties and campuses.
