Job summary

Cogent Communications, a leading multisite ISP, seeks a driven Regional Sales professional to identify and close new business opportunities in the Minneapolis area. The role focuses on mid-market and national accounts with extensive prospecting and relationship-building.

You will work in an in-office environment five days a week, leveraging a mature commission plan and a competitive base salary. Prior sales in telecom or IT services is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience with a track record of success is required.
• Ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through prospecting and research.
• Strong oral and written communication is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM is a plus.
• A college degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory (Mid Market and National Accounts).
• Prospect via direct calling, email and other contact efforts with Key Decision Makers.
• Support field activities: building walks, lobby events, and face-to-face meetings.
• Leverage consultative selling and relationship-building to position connectivity solutions.
• Help customers by positioning Cogent services for new business.
• Aim to achieve monthly revenue goals in large commercial and retail buildings.
