Job summary

Grainger, a leading broad line distributor, seeks an experienced sales professional to maximize revenue for designated accounts, including military bases. You will build relationships, respond to evolving customer needs, and drive sales growth across existing and new accounts while aligning with Grainger’s value proposition.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years direct outside sales experience or military experience.
• Knowledge of sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning.
• Tech-savvy with ability to communicate in today’s business environment.
• Ability to close actions, projects or sales with customers.
• Ability to articulate business drivers and total cost of ownership concepts.
• Ability to use sales process to uncover objections and provide solutions.
• Discipline to align planning goals with pipeline development.
• Willingness to be in the field with customers four to five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer goals and respond to changing needs to keep operations running smoothly.
• Demonstrate market data knowledge and access resources to respond to developments.
• Support managed inventory tasks to deepen customer understanding and grow sales.
• Explain Grainger's Value Proposition and offer solutions to grow profitable sales.
• Set customer and market priorities to execute strategic sales actions.
• Develop and implement account strategies with regular business reviews for military customers.
• Comply with Grainger's sales and pricing guidelines.
• Use all resources and technical support available.
• Document and analyze customer-focused activities to boost productivity and sales within accounts including Air Force bases.
