Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Portland, OR is seeking an Operational Account Manager, Freight Operations to support the Road US team’s brokerage operations. You will develop branch house accounts, nurture client relationships, and drive growth while coordinating with carriers and customers for optimal service and pricing.

The role emphasizes strong communication, data-driven decision making, and proactive shipment management in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.
• 3 years’ logistics/transportation brokerage experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS).

Responsibilities

• Develops customer relationships via phone, email, and in person.
• Negotiate with carriers to obtain rates and services.
• Identify growth opportunities within the branch’s house accounts.
• Investigate and establish new customer leads and opportunities.
• Assess customer requests to provide optimal service options and pricing.
• Proactively handle customer shipment requests.
• Utilize TMS for data input to move and schedule materials.
• Provide pricing guidance to Carrier Sales team.
• Track shipments from pickup to delivery and update customers.
