Job summary

DSV Road US is seeking an Operational Account Manager, Freight Operations to strengthen customer relationships and drive freight brokerage activities. You will manage house accounts, develop new opportunities, and coordinate with carriers to optimize pricing and service.

This role requires analytical Excel skills, strong communication, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment. You will interact with customers, carriers and internal teams to ensure on-time, accurate shipment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• 3 years’ experience in logistics or related field; 5+ years preferred
• Experience with transportation management systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Strong Excel analytics experience
• Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong prioritization and urgency; Windows proficiency
• Strong ability to persuade, negotiate and influence others
• Ability to work flexible hours; strong pricing math skills

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages overall customer relationships via phone, email and in person
• Negotiate with transportation carriers to set rates and services
• Identify growth opportunities within branch house accounts
• Investigate new customer leads and opportunities
• Assess customer requests to provide best service options and pricing
• Proactively handle customer shipment requests
• Utilize TMS to input data for movement, planning and scheduling
• Provide direction and pricing guidelines for Carrier Sales
• Monitor shipment progress from pickup to delivery and communicate status
• Ensure customer expectations are met through close carrier collaboration
• Track and trace shipments and prepare spend reports; conduct regular check-ins
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned
