Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance team supporting transportation initiatives and budgeting.

The role focuses on forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, and board materials, partnering with the FP&A and Transportation teams to drive profitable growth. You will build and present bottoms-up forecasts, analyze ship costs and margins, and contribute to annual operating plans and investor communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or another related field.
• 3PL or relevant experience in Transportation.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in our Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation initiatives monthly and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to strategize and report on weekly performance, especially related to Transportation.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support the development and implementation of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan by engaging with the Transportation team to build plans and targets and convert this into the budget.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board highlighting key metrics and trends.
• Develop margin analyses and communicate findings to business partners.
• Utilize financial concepts to improve models and processes.
• Continuously improve files and processes and find workarounds for complex data.
• Collaborate with management to drive strategic improvements across the company.
