Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a fast-paced finance team supporting transportation initiatives. You will forecast, analyze variances, and build board materials, acting as a liaison between Finance and Transportation to improve forecast accuracy and cost performance.

You will collaborate with the FP&A team on margin analysis, reporting, and strategic projects, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and delivering timely insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A or related experience.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in our Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; convey complex concepts clearly.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI, Power Query preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation initiatives monthly; communicate KPIs and variances to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report on weekly performance, including ship costs and margins.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms-up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support development and implementation of models for new transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with Transportation; translate to the budget.
• Create monthly/quarterly investor and board materials with key metrics and trends.
• Provide insights on margins and operational metrics to business partners.
• Develop and improve models and processes; apply company objectives to forecasts.
