Job summary

Cloudflare, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Customer Engineer to drive the technical go-to-market as a trusted advisor guiding enterprise clients from validation through onboarding and expansion. You’ll bridge technical strategy with business value, owned by a quota-carrying role within the GTM org.

The candidate will own discovery, demos, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion strategy, partnering with account executives to ensure rapid time-to-value across the customer journey.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering or Sales Engineering.
• Ability to white-board, design, and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures clearly.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes for engineers and executives.
• Commercially focused with experience in quota-bearing or revenue-aligned environments and SaaS metrics.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills bridging implementation details and C-suite strategy.
• Depth in at least four technical areas: Internet fundamentals, security, performance, AI, coding/scripting, developer platform fluency.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical deep-dive discovery with Account Executives and map customer infrastructure to Cloudflare architectures.
• Oversee onboarding, deployment architecture guidance, and lifecycle expansion as the primary engineering contact.
• Drive quarterly business reviews to translate Cloudflare capabilities into business value for executives.
• Act as trusted advisor on architecture, AI controls, security posture, and deployment confidence.
• Leverage AI agents and workflows to automate routine tasks and free time for strategic advisory.
• Create and share SOPs, best practices, and guides to raise technical baseline across teams.
