Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Customer Engineer in Seattle, WA to act as a trusted technical advisor through the entire customer journey—from pre-sales validation to onboarding, deployment architecture, and expansion. You will work within the GTM organization, owning discovery, demos, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion with enterprise clients.

You will leverage AI-augmented workflows to reduce toil, design migration blueprints, and drive measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or as a Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Architectural mindset with ability to white-board and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
• Strong consultative/advisory skills to translate technical concepts into business outcomes for engineers and executives.
• Commercial mindset with track record in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned roles and SaaS metrics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management to bridge deep technical details and C-suite strategy.
• Breadth in at least four technical areas including networking, security, performance, AI, coding, and developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with Account Executives and map customer requirements to Cloudflare architectures.
• Design onboarding blueprints and guide customers through DNS migrations, Zero Trust rollouts, and WAF tuning.
• Own discovery, demos, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion strategies with the sales team.
• Act as trusted advisor through onboarding, maturity, renewal, and expansion lifecycle.
