Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa is seeking a Store Team Lead for the Crossroads Store in Waterloo, IA. The role oversees daily operations from donation intake to sales, guiding staff to deliver excellent customer service and maintain store performance.

The position requires strong communication, supervision, and safety practices, with duties spanning merchandising, training, and basic store duties in absence of management.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred; substitution allowed with military service/experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns daily job tasks to Sales Associates and Utility workers.
• Exercise independent judgment.
• Greets customers immediately upon entering store and ensures quality service.
• Ensures all donations and truck shipments are sorted and graded in a timely and effective manner.
• Operates cash register to ensure smooth transactions and short lines.
• Identifies appropriate merchandise for online sales and handles according to procedure.
• Greets donors and unloads items, offering tax receipt forms.
• Maintains daily production expectations and store safety awareness.
• Demonstrates and trains new team members on duties and policies.
• Completes opening and closing procedures and daily paperwork as directed.
