Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa, Inc. Independence, IA is seeking a Store Team Lead to oversee the flow of donated goods from donation to sales and supervise Sales Associates and Utility workers.

You will ensure high-quality merchandise is available, maintain customer service standards, and supervise daily operations. The role includes directing tasks, cash handling, safety compliance, and collaboration with store management to meet production targets while representing Goodwill’s values

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred; 2 years of related work may substitute.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to direct and delegate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns daily tasks to Sales Associates and Utility workers.
• Exercise independent judgment.
• Greets customers and ensures service quality and shopping experience.
• Sorts and grades donations and shipments to keep store stocked with quality merchandise.
• Operates cash register and manages lines to minimize wait times.
• Identifies merchandise for online sales and handles according to procedure.
• Greet donors and unload items; offer tax receipt form.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety; respond to repairs or maintenance needs.
• Demonstrates and guides new team members on duties and policies.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily reports.
