Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred; substitution by 2 years of related work may apply.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to direct, assign, and delegate daily tasks to Team Members.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for others.
• Able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds with assistance.
• Reliable transportation; flexible schedule at multiple locations including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Willing to obtain forklift license.
• Good judgment, discretion, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns daily job tasks to Sales Associates and Utility workers.
• Exercise independent judgment.
• Greets customers and ensures service levels and a positive shopping experience.
• Sorts and grades donations and truck shipments to keep shelves stocked with quality merchandise.
• Operates cash register with prompt, friendly service.
• Identifies merchandise for online sales and handles accordingly.
• Marks and stocks new goods merchandise.
• Greets donors at their car and unloads items, offering a tax receipt form.
• Sorts material between donor engagements; redirects unsaleable items.
• Ensures daily production expectations are met.
• Prevents theft by remaining alert and reporting suspicious activity.
• Assists with upkeep: snow removal, light bulbs, windows, etc.
• Demonstrates duties and policy guidance to new team members.
• Assigns/delegates tasks under Store Manager; enforces SOPs.
• Maintains store and donation area cleanliness and safety; notes repair needs.
• Completes monthly Store Inspections, Health/Safety Checklist, and drills.
• Collaborates across departments to maximize service and improve processes.
• Supports Store Manager with performance reviews and feedback.
• Completes opening/closing procedures as needed.
• Submits daily paperwork, deposits, and reports as directed.
• Completes truck orders promptly; communicates updates to Store Manager.
• Assists with outgoing truck loads and forklift operations.
• Minimizes waste and maximizes salvage revenue through recycling.
• Ensures equipment safety and proper safeguards; operates forklift.
• Models Goodwill’s IMPACT values in daily work.
