Job summary

Lidl US in New York is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in coaching the store team and delivering Lidl’s high-quality, low-price shopping experience.

You will lead daily operations, supervise team performance, and ensure outstanding customer service while maintaining safe and efficient store standards. This role requires physical work, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellent store execution.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• 1–2 years of management experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong leadership and team development abilities.
• Customer-focused and able to de-escalate situations.
• Willing to participate in physical store operations daily.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds and reach above head height.
• ServSafe certification is required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to reach store potential daily.
• Provide excellent customer service and be the main contact for customers.
• Monitor and drive store KPIs and performance.
• Lead weekly promotions and re-merchandising projects.
• Provide hands-on support for cash handling, stocking, cleaning, and operations.
• Ensure a safe, productive environment in line with policy and law.
