Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee day-to-day operations, mentor teammates, and drive sales while upholding company standards. The role emphasizes strong customer service, staff development, and effective communication across departments.

You will staff, train, and develop team members, manage P&L and shrink, and ensure a clean, welcoming store environment throughout peak hours, aligning with Meijer standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across organization levels.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day to day store operations.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development paths for team members.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensures team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and completes required training.
