Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a seasoned store leader to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor team members, guide staffing decisions and drive customer service to improve sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

You will be hands-on in scheduling, staff development and ensuring a safe, engaging shopping environment during prime hours. A strong focus on teamwork and process improvement is essential to success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions and to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a safety-focused organization.
• Mentor team members including hourly staff and team leaders.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs and ensuring quick, efficient service.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on peak hours and product presentation.
