Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to direct day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and drive sales while maintaining high standards of customer service. You will oversee staffing, development, and performance to ensure the store meets its goals with a focus on safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Commitment to training and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members to uphold a positive company image.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career paths and development to drive promotions.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Oversee P&L, drive sales, and manage shrink within the department.
• Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure staff complete all required training and stay compliant.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation through prime hours.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
