Job summary

The role requires 1 year of management experience and 2-3 years in retail, with strong communication and financial insight to optimize store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance and product presentation with company standards.
• Ensures courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers and staff.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes career paths and development for team members; involved in promotions decisions.
• Documents disciplinary actions and handles discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Ensures training completion for all roles and ongoing store communication.
