Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Sales Manager for the Newport, KY area to lead a high‑performing selling culture across the store and drive strong sales results.

You will oversee front-end operations, customer experience, and adherence to SOPs, with a focus on coaching teams and delivering consistent brand standards. You will provide MOD coverage, optimize POS usage, and support key in‑store programs such as loyalty, protection plans, and the Knit & Sew Shop.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience
• Experience coaching and developing store teams
• Strong knowledge of SOPs and company programs

Responsibilities

• Lead and support front-end and service operations to drive sales and customer experience
• Provide MOD coverage and maintain floor leadership and service standards
• Coach team on selling behaviors and brand standards, ensure omnichannel execution
• Oversee POS/Self-Checkout, loyalty programs, and store events
• Train and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building
