Job summary

Michaels in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a high-performing selling culture, drive sales results, and deliver an engaging customer experience across front-end and service operations.

You will coach the team, provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, oversee POS usage, and champion in-store programs such as Loyalty, BOPIS, and Same Day Delivery.

This role requires 3+ years of retail leadership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to coach and develop store teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and company programs; ensure compliance and store results.
• Ensure execution of policies and brand standards; hold team accountable for conditions and results.
• Model and coach customer experience and selling behaviors to drive conversion and satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage; maintain floor leadership and service standards.
• Ensure accurate, efficient use of POS and Self-Checkout systems for smooth transactions.
• Oversee balloons business, birthday party ops, in-store programs and events.
• Promote and enroll customers in the Loyalty Rewards Program to drive retention.
• Champion MCC/Extend services; promote protection plans and offerings.
• Drive sales and operations in Knit & Sew Shop; oversee Cut Bar experience.
• Ensure efficient execution of BOPIS and Same Day Delivery; support omni-channel service.
• Support Custom Framing operations with customer consultations and coordination with frame shop.
• Train, coach, and develop team members via structured onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner to maintain Asset Protection practices; reduce shrink through awareness and compliance.
• Other duties as assigned
