Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. You will lead, train and motivate staff, and stand in for the Store Manager as needed to maintain sales, service and operations excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in daily operations and ensure policy compliance.
• Provide leadership, guidance and training to staff under Store Manager direction.
• Assume full responsibility in Store Manager's absence.
• Strive to meet and exceed sales, service and operational goals.
• Ensure customer shopping experience is excellent and service standards are maintained.
• Perform POS transactions, discounts, refunds, loyalty, and opening/closing procedures.
• Handle inventory control tasks, shipping/receiving, pricing, markdowns and physical inventory.
• Manage visual merchandising, floor presentation, housekeeping and promotional signage.
• Oversee payroll controls: scheduling, budget adherence, time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports following company policies and procedures.
• Assist with loss prevention to protect company assets.
• Develop a solid understanding of managing day-to-day store operations.
