Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and staff leadership. You will guide service, merchandising, and safety while ensuring policy compliance and a strong customer experience.

In the absence of the Store Manager, you will assume full responsibility for the store and drive sales, service, and operations to meet corporate objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong visual merchandising skills.
• Working knowledge of footwear, accessories and shoe care.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of Corporate and Store Operations policies and procedures.
• Understanding of Store Presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Provide leadership and training to staff as directed by the Store Manager.
• In the Store Manager's absence, assume full responsibility for store operations.
• Aim to meet and exceed sales, service, and operational objectives.
• Process POS transactions per policy; handle sales, discounts, refunds and loyalty.
• Oversee inventory control, price changes, markdowns, and physical inventories.
• Merchandise on the sales floor and maintain visual standards; manage signage and promotions.
• Assist with scheduling and payroll compliance; monitor time and attendance.
• Lead loss prevention efforts and protect company assets.
• Develop and coach direct reports to uphold standards.
