Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring policy compliance and leading staff training. The role emphasizes delivering an exceptional customer shopping experience and meeting sales and service goals.

In this position you will supervise cash handling, inventory, merchandising, scheduling, and loss prevention, while stepping in for the Store Manager when needed to maintain smooth store performance.

Responsibilities

• Safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create, establish and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience; maintain service levels.
• Provide service training and leadership to staff.
• Manage customer issues with urgency and to customer satisfaction.
• Process POS transactions per policy (sales, discounts, refunds, loyalty; open/close procedures).
• Inventory control: shipping/receiving, price management, singles, damaged merchandise, physical inventory.
• Merchandising and visual presentation to company standards.
• Payroll control: scheduling, budget compliance, time and attendance.
• Training and development of direct reports; adherence to policies and procedures.
• Loss prevention and protection of company assets.
• Understand and manage day-to-day operations.
