Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as department manager or similar role.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing associates to hit customer service and business goals.
• Proven ability to use KPIs, metrics and data insights for decision making.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and influence store performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in delivering a superior customer shopping experience.
• Lead merchandising and operating initiatives with department heads.
• Develop action plans to communicate survey results and improve performance.
• Identify store opportunities and implement timely solutions and plans.
• Model inclusive leadership and coach staff for strong customer service.
• Manage total store operations in the store manager's absence.
• Aim to meet or exceed sales, wage budgets and profit targets.
• Monitor budgets, labor and expenses and discuss financial performance with staff.
• Communicate information to associates effectively; liaise with district managers.
• Foster community relationships and collaborate with unions where applicable.
