The Kroger Co. in Ohio seeks an Assistant Department Manager for the Grocery Department. You will assist the Department Manager in planning, organizing, staffing, training and directing associates to ensure prompt, courteous service and achievement of store goals.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, responding to customer questions, managing ordering with CAO, pricing and display, merchandising, enforcing policies, and contributing to department budgets and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Willing to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights as needed.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly
• Able to handle stressful situations calmly and positively with associates and customers.
• Knowledge of department operations: staffing, merchandising, CAO, inventory management, shrink control, scheduling, expense control.

Responsabilités

• Assist Department Manager in planning, organizing, staffing, training and directing Grocery Department associates; maximize store sales and profits safely and ethically.
• Respond to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents and questions; be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous and professional.
• Use CAO to manage ordering and balance on hand in the Department Manager’s absence.
• Perform and direct pricing and display of merchandise; maintain signage, rotation, freshness, quantity and space allocation.
• Engage and counsel associates in merchandising techniques, customer service, product presentation and promotions.
• Follow company programs and policies, especially dress code, grooming, sanitation and harassment-free environment.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results; communicate with associates and customers to leave a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment, facilities and grocery areas clean and sanitary to company standards.
• Demonstrate ability to promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements to reports.
