Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Store Manager/Department Manager to support all areas of operation and human resources. You will assist in achieving customer service excellence, drive sales and budgeting, and lead store teams in planning and executing initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration across departments, and a strong focus on safety, compliance, and community relationships. On-site management is required in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop associates to achieve customer service, operational, and business goals.
• Experience using KPIs, metrics, and data insights to identify opportunities and support decisions.
• Proven ability to collaborate across departments and influence others to drive store performance.
• Experience in fast-paced retail environments with a focus on customer service and operations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills across all levels of store staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in delivering a favorable customer shopping experience and develop interest in customer service/relations.
• Lead teams in planning, implementing and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
• Develop action plans/communications to associates based on Associate Insight survey results.
• Identify store opportunities with department heads and create timely solutions.
• Model exemplary customer service and address associate/customer issues.
• Support total store operations in the store manager’s absence.
• Help achieve weekly, period, and annual sales, wage budgets, and profit budgets.
• Drive sales by maximizing department contributions and reducing shrink.
• Participate in regular store-level financial discussions and budgeting efforts.
