Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager in Simpsonville, SC to assist the Store Manager in daily operations and drive exceptional customer service. You will lead staff, manage POS activities, inventory, merchandising, payroll, and loss prevention, stepping in for the Store Manager as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, policy adherence, training, and strong leadership to exceed sales and service goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience; provide service training and leadership to staff.
• Handle POS transactions, sales, discounts, refunds, loyalty, and opening/closing procedures.
• Oversee inventory control: shipping/receiving, price changes, markdowns, damaged merchandise, physical inventory.
• Direct merchandising and visual presentation to company standards and signage.
• Manage payroll-related tasks: scheduling, budget compliance, time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports per company policies and training tools.
• Oversee loss prevention and protect store assets.
• Develop understanding of day-to-day operations.
