Job summary

Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries seeks an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, donations processing, sales, staff supervision, and loss prevention. This developmental role aims to advance to a Manager position.

You will train, coach, and ensure policy adherence, manage schedules, perform bank deposits, and maintain a clean, safe retail environment while delivering strong donor and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a leadership or oversight role, preferably in retail.
• Requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Direct activities of staff and volunteers to ensure accurate processing and reporting of sales and donations.
• Train, coach, and provide feedback to staff to strengthen skills.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling staff.
• Demonstrate leadership and promote a positive role model for retail staff.
• Report loss control concerns to the Store Manager promptly.
• Manage time and monitor staff hours to ensure tasks are completed.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, and housekeeping standards.
• Support budgeting and financial performance with the Store Manager.
