Five Below is hiring for an on-site hourly role at our Richmond, VA location. The candidate will serve as Manager on Duty, oversee store operations, and lead associates to deliver exceptional customer service.

This role emphasizes inventory organization, checkout efficiency, and daily leadership tasks. The ideal candidate has management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all crew members are Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
• Trains the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience; ensuring that each guest has a fast, friendly check out experience.
• Oversee daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they are performing duties effectively and providing excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Manage opening/closing of the store, including cash handling, doors, alarms, and daily operations.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates to learn store policies and procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with store leadership team in merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance like cleaning and stock room upkeep.
