Job summary

The Salvation Army in San Jose seeks a Store Manager to lead the Stevens Creek Thrift Store, driving sales and supporting the ARC rehabilitation program. You will mentor beneficiaries, manage staff, and uphold donation standards.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching, inventory control, and ensuring excellent customer service while maintaining safety and compliance across operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisor/management experience in a retail environment (thrift experience preferred).
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid Driver’s license, pass a MVR check, proof of insurance and access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.

Responsibilities

• Meet store sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses.
• Direct day-to-day operations of the store, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, donations.
• Hire, train, and coach store staff; conduct evaluations and corrective actions.
• Schedule staff and run daily meetings; monitor time and attendance.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and maintain community relations.
• Lead Back Room Processing and ensure inventory is on the floor timely.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property; ensure safety and security.
