Job summary

The Salvation Army Salinas thrift store is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations and deliver excellent customer service while supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program. You will oversee staff, manage budgets, schedules, and merchandise, ensuring compliance with safety and ARC policies.

Responsibilities include driving sales, coordinating donations, training personnel, and maintaining strong donor relations to advance The Salvation Army's mission in Salinas.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED. (some college preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisor/management experience in a retail environment (thrift experience preferred)
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid Driver’s license, successfully pass a MVR check (required), proof of insurance and access to a motor vehicle
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors

Responsibilities

• Meet sales and income budget while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
• Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of assigned store location; manages POS, inventory, and donations.
• Hire, train and direct the store team; provide performance coaching and evaluations with HR coordination.
• Schedule employees for appropriate coverage; maintain payroll records and attendance edits.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction; foster community relations and ARC alignment.
• Oversee Back Room Processing and inventory movement to the sales floor; ensure product on floor.
• Safeguard store currency, inventory, and property; ensure security protocols and safety compliance.
