Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Store Manager at our Salinas CA thrift store. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining a well-organized store, and supporting ARC rehabilitation goals.

You will lead a small team, manage donations, and uphold store standards to maximize community impact. Qualified candidates have at least a high school diploma, 3 years supervisory retail experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED. (some college preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisor/management experience in a retail environment (thrift experience preferred)
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid Driver's license, successfully pass a MVR check (required), proof of insurance and access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors

Responsibilities

• Meet sales and income budgets while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
• Direct day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
• Hire, train and supervise the store team; manage payroll records and evaluations.
• Schedule employees to ensure proper coverage and conduct meetings.
• Maintain high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and community relations.
• Ensure Back Room Processing is efficient and inventory on the sales floor.
• Supervise program Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property and ensure security.
