Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory's Stevens Creek Thrift Store in San Jose, CA is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales, and ensure exceptional donor and customer experiences. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; GED accepted.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisor/management experience in retail preferred (thrift experience a plus).
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR check.
• Background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Meet store sales and income budgets while managing expenses for profitability.
• Plan and direct day-to-day operations of the store; manage opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
• Hire, train, and direct the store team; conduct evaluations and coaching with HR guidance.
• Schedule employees to ensure coverage; lead team meetings and monitor time/attendance.
• Maintain high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and strengthen community relations.
• Oversee back-room processing and inventory to ensure products are on the sales floor.
• Supervise Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are used and support program staff.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property; ensure safety and security protocols.
