Job summary

Books-A-Million is hiring for an Assistant General Manager at one of our 2nd & Charles locations. You will lead the store as Manager On Duty, coach Associates, and partner with the General Manager to drive results, customer engagement, and community connection.

You will oversee leadership development, schedule creation, and daily operations to ensure a welcoming store that reflects our passion for books, media, and pop culture.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to act in a mature and conscientious manner.
• Ability to supervise a large number of associates.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and merchandising skills.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store as Manager On Duty and coach the Associates.
• Own the full buy-sell-trade experience and ensure great customer interactions.
• Create schedules and daily agendas aligned with store needs.
• Lead daily briefings and weekly meetings to align goals and plans.
• Drive exceptional customer service and maintain store standards.
• Oversee store operations, audits, and compliance with policies.
