Books-A-Million seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead store operations as Manager On Duty. You will work with the General Manager to execute all aspects of store performance, coach associates, manage budgets, and ensure a customer-focused, high-energy environment in a busy books retail setting.

You will develop leadership within the team, align daily activities with company policies, and shape community engagement by delivering outstanding service and memorable shopping experiences.

Qualifications

• Requires 21+ years or older and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supervising a team is preferred.
• Strong customer service, leadership, and merchandising skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day store operations as Manager On Duty, in partnership with the General Manager.
• Coach and develop Associates, ensuring excellent customer service and store performance.
• Create schedules, set expectations, and communicate goals to the team to drive results.
