Job summary

2nd & Charles, a Books-A-Million brand, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead store operations and team performance in Plano. You will act as Manager On Duty, direct the sales floor, buy counter, and customer interactions, and partner with the General Manager to deliver exceptional results and community engagement.

You will develop talent, maintain merchandising standards, and ensure a welcoming, high-energy store environment where customers discover books, media, and collectibles

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• Demonstrated ability to act in a mature and conscientious manner.
• Ability to supervise a large number of associates.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and merchandising skills.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Own the full buy-sell-trade experience and create a great customer experience.
• Lead as Manager On Duty, coaching Associates and supporting the General Manager.
• Set schedules and daily agendas to match store needs and goals.
• Drive store operations with a focus on policy adherence and results.
• Develop and train team members to grow into leadership roles.
• Foster a welcoming store culture and community connection.
