Job summary

Philz Coffee in San Francisco is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead store operations, coach teams, and drive initiatives while upholding Philz standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will focus on people development, scheduling, inventory, and payroll, implement promotions, and ensure food safety. There are growth paths into home office or roasting plant roles. Salary ranges are provided with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume food & beverage environment.
• 1–2 years of experience in hiring, training, and coaching team members.
• Previous experience in store-level roll outs of promotions and programs.
• Experience managing scheduling, inventory, payroll, and compliance.
• Strong experience supervising food safety and other risk management programs.
• Familiarity with financial controls, including labor and food cost management.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office; scheduling/inventory systems a plus.
• Schedule flexibility and willingness to work various days and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations, including staffing, food costs, customer experience, and team performance.
• Manage food safety standards, run monthly audits, and ensure follow-up actions.
• Ensure a store experience aligned with Philz core values and standards.
• Respond to customer feedback across channels and take action to improve the store experience.
• Coach and evaluate team members, providing feedback to support growth.
• Lead rollout of new initiatives and ensure your team is trained and ready.
