Job summary

Philz Coffee in San Francisco seeks an Assistant General Manager to join its store leadership team and oversee operations, staffing, and safety initiatives. You will use independent judgment to drive store performance, coach team members, and implement new programs to enhance the overall guest experience.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of supervisory experience in fast-paced food & beverage, with a track record in hiring, training, and coaching.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume food & beverage environment.
• 1-2 years of experience in people programs such as hiring, training, and coaching team members.
• Experience with store-level rollouts of promotions and programs.
• Experience managing scheduling, inventory, payroll, and compliance.
• Strong experience supervising food safety and other risk management programs.
• Familiarity with financial controls, including labor and food cost management.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Suite; scheduling/inventory systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee key components of store operations, including staffing, costs, customer experience, and team performance.
• Manage food and operations safety standards, run monthly audits, and ensure follow-up.
• Ensure a store experience aligned with Philz's core values and standards.
• Respond to customer feedback and take action to improve the store experience.
• Coach and evaluate team members, providing feedback and supporting growth.
• Lead rollout of new initiatives and ensure the team is trained and ready.
