Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and selling. You will recruit, train and develop staff, conduct performance evaluations and enforce company policies to keep the store properly staffed and in compliance.

You will monitor sales, profitability and inventory, manage open/close procedures, ensure accurate cash handling, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified staff; ensures proper staffing.
• Trains employees; conducts performance evaluations; counsels when needed.
• Recommends pay rates and advancement.
• Communicates performance and safety expectations; coordinates meetings.
• Ensures proper opening/closing and staffing at all shifts.
• Monitors sales, profits, turns and expenses to identify trends.
• Oversees stock replenishment and inventory management.
• Maintains presentation, pricing and signage of merchandise.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and cash controls.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, safe and organized.
• Ensures equipment readiness and SOP compliance.
• Completes paperwork according to deadlines.
