Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, staffing, training, and daily operations. You will plan and implement ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, and selling while maintaining compliance with company policies and laws.

You will be responsible for recruiting and evaluating staff, ensuring safety, managing cash controls, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate expectations regularly; coordinate meetings to ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Open and close the store twice per week.
• Analyze operating statements to identify trends, expenses, and inventory issues.
• Monitor stock levels; manage ordering and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage meet company standards.
• Maintain security through cash controls and compliance with procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
